We are located in a nostalgic home built in the 1800's in historic downtown Huntsville. "The Watercress claims that it is a 'southern' restaurant, but you really won't be getting the standard collard greens and friend chicken. The ambience of the place is extremely quaint and while I usually prefer not to eat outside, I couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to eat on the front patio. The food was definitely great. The chef's Salmon tartare was to die for and my taste buds are still thanking him. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the wine list."

"we have eaten @ watercress many times . this sat evening we found it to be sparsely attended. we noted the portion size of our Scottish salmon was extremely small . we will not be returning. though the staff was very friendly to pay over 100.00 for tiny portions does not work ....."

"A lovely dining experience from start to finish. Our reservation was honored promptly. The service was attentive without being intrusive. An old house that has been lovingly restored, it was warm and invitingly on a cool night. Loved the scallops and steelhead, and the peach bread pudding was delicious. If we lived in Huntsville, we would quickly become regulars."

"Overall this restaurant is excellent. I was disappointed that at 7:30 on a Saturday night they had already run out of my entree of choice, one of only 5 on the menu. I settled for the scallop dish, which was phenomenal. My boyfriend had the pork tenderloin dish which was also excellent which he said was the best pork tenderloin he'd ever had. The watercress salad was very good, although too much dressing overpowered the dish. The peaches & cream bread pudding was to die for. Although we had to ask for bread, the service was good. What the restaurant lacks in ambiance it more than makes up with their food. Hands down the best food in Huntsville. We'll be back often!"

"We always love Watercress, and this trip did not disappoint. Food was superb. Only weakness, as others have noted, is this charming former home lacks coziness...it's a bit drafty and the acoustics make it louder than it should be. Nevertheless, it is one of Huntsville's best."
